Generali, one of the world’s largest insurance companies, wanted to develop a market-leading digital proposition to engage young investors in Switzerland. The company knew there was an opportunity with young professionals, but they needed to develop a modern solution to help them engage with finances and save for their future. It was particularly important to enhance their retirement savings experience.
Rather than partnering with a software provider, Generali Switzerland selected FNZ for its market-leading platform, integrated state-of-the-art digital pension product, and ability to also manage the associated investment operations services.
Creating an advanced digital proposition - unique in the market
The goal was to create a simple and flexible solution that enabled investors to quickly create savings policies without the need for paper, complex processes or time-consuming administration.
The result was Generali's solution known as PIllar 3a in Switzerland, a voluntary, tax-advantaged savings option designed to supplement the state pension. This is an advanced digital proposition seamlessly integrated with Generali’s customer portal. It enables a fully digital onboarding journey along with access to either a direct or advised process provided by Generali.
End investors are given complete control over their retirement savings; they can personalise their investment amounts, amend frequency of payments, monitor ongoing performance and directly access financial advice where required.
For advisors, the proposition comes with a guided investor onboarding journey. Complicated advisory processes have been replaced with a set of simple questions that allow advisors to determine the best investment solutions for their customer and their needs.
Better client outcomes at a lower cost
This has led to a high quality, digital, and personalised proposition provided at lower cost – helping to position Generali Switzerland as a trusted, lifelong partner for young professionals with many years of saving ahead of them.
The 3a saving and investing product also integrates Generali’s proprietary portfolios within the offering, helping create unique investment solutions at a lower cost. Profit margins are shifted from competitor asset managers to Generali whilst delivering better outcomes for the clients.
