Q&A
To find out more about The Sunshine Forum, we spoke with FNZ’s Deepika Lutchman, Chair of The Sunshine Forum:
How did it start?
"The Sunshine Forum was created over 10 years ago and it has evolved over the years. What has not changed is the heart behind it—a heart for our local community and the drive of our ‘Sunshiners’ and FNZ to make a local, targeted difference and help better the lives of those in our community."

Who do you support?
"We focus on smaller, local initiatives—those that need the most help but often receive the least attention. By investing here, we can make the biggest impact."
What kind of impact has The Sunshine Forum had over the years?
"It’s hard to put a monetary value on this. Of course, we use our funds wisely and put them to action where they’re most needed. But the real value comes from the time, dedication, and contribution of our Sunshiners and extended network—and the real success is seen in the smiles of the children during our outings and the improved living conditions in the communities we support."
A key charity supported by The Sunshine Forum is the SOS Children’s Village in Ennerdale. Their Programme Director Sam Motsitsi, had this to say about the partnership:
“It’s been a longstanding and meaningful partnership with The FNZ Sunshine Forum. Their support, time, love, care, and of course, monetary donations in support of the development of the children in the SOS Children’s Village in Ennerdale, continue to make a real impact in the lives of our children."
"What this means is children have a chance to succeed in life, experience love, and care for the first time, and can rise above their circumstances and have a brighter future. I hope together we can continue to make a difference in the lives of children for many years to come.”
What's next for The Sunshine Forum?
"Consistency is key. We plan to continue our work and expand our reach. Every small action counts! I hope by sharing our story, we can encourage other people to take the first step and make a small difference in their communities."
What makes The Sunshine Forum extraordinary?
“It’s the qualities of each Sunshiner—the kindness, thoughtfulness, generosity, and selflessness—that I find extraordinary. Additionally, it's the difference we're making in the lives of our local community and each individual child."
