Peter Hiom

Peter Hiom is FNZ’s Group Head of Asia Pacific and Group Head of Markets.

As Group Head of Asia Pacific, he is responsible for strategic direction, client delivery and growth across the region. In his role as Group Head of Markets, he leads FNZ’s strategy to provide technology and dealing services across the global capital markets value chain.

Peter is an experienced business development and technology leader having had senior roles in both the UK and Australia. His career has been driven by a passion for strategy, product development, sales, and finding new ways to apply technology in capital markets and wealth management.

Before joining FNZ, Peter was an Industry Partner at Motive Partners, a fintech investment firm, where he helped shape their capital markets investment strategy and worked closely with portfolio companies to accelerate their growth.

From 2010 to 2021, Peter was Deputy CEO at ASX, leading primary and secondary markets, clearing and settlement, data, and technical services. He first joined ASX in 2006 via its merger with the Sydney Futures Exchange, where he was focused on growing Australia’s exchange-traded derivatives and OTC fixed income markets.

Earlier in his career, Peter worked at the London International Financial Futures Exchange during the 1990s, taking on a range of business development and technology roles during the automation of the European exchange-traded derivatives markets.

Outside of work, Peter enjoys the arts, travel, cycling, skiing, cooking and is a devoted dog lover.
