Aashish Kamat
Group Chief Financial Officer
Aashish brings 32 years of experience in the corporate world, with 24 years being in banking and financial services, six years in public accounting and two years in Private Equity. In the recent past, Aashish spent his time on consulting/advising on strategy and corporate governance, as a Senior Advisor with Bain Consulting and as an Independent Director in select companies and early stage investing.
Aashish serves as Independent Director on the boards of four companies in India, two of which are public, and two which are private and in the process of going public. At three of the companies, Aashish is the Chairperson of the Audit Committee.
From 2019 to 2021, Aashish spent two years in Private Equity at L Catterton, as the Co-Managing Partner of GCC Asia Growth Fund, focused on the Middle East and India, and as Senior Partner in the Singapore Office. Prior to this, his 25 years in banking have seen him hold various senior and regional roles covering wholesale, investment, private and consumer banking in India and overseas.
Aashish, was the Country Head for UBS India, from 2012 until his early retirement in January 2018. Prior to him joining UBS, he held Regional COO/CFO and LOB CFO roles at JPM and Bank of America across NY and Hong Kong. Aashish, started his career with Coopers & Lybrand, a public accounting firm, in 1988 before he joined JP Morgan in 1994.
Aashish holds a BA in Accounting from Franklin & Marshall College, USA and is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
In his free time, Aashish competes in Squash and Padel tournaments. Aashish is currently the 0-55 National Squash Champion in India and in 2018 reached the quarter-finals at the World Master Championship for O-50.
