FNZ to acquire Silica from Ninety One
The acquisition supports FNZ’s long-term strategy of expanding the accessibility…
FNZ and Hornbuckle create a strategic alliance to deliver a sophisticated portal for administering UK Self Invested Pension Plans (SIPP) and Small Self-Administered Schemes (SSAS).
Hornbuckle and FNZ (UK) have today announced a strategic alliance that will enable regulated UK Advisors, Wealth Managers, Private Banks and Direct to Consumer Intermediaries access to pension administration, investment services and self-service tools for traditional and non-traditional asset types. Under the alliance Hornbuckle and FNZ will integrate their efforts and expertise to drive innovation in user experience, product design and technology solutions focused on administration and investment solutions for the UK’s retirement market over the next 10 years.
The new portal, called Embark, combines FNZ’s award-winning transaction and administration technology with Hornbuckle’s experience in pensions and investment areas such as commercial property and unlisted shares. Embark will be launched to selected clients of Hornbuckle in Q4 this year before expanding to the remainder of its client base and new distribution partners in early 2015.
Our new portal will represent a leap in the service level we can provide to our clients and in our opportunities for future growth at no extra cost.
Phil Smith, CEO of Hornbuckle said, “We are excited to be bringing the ease, flexibility and servicing capabilities of ‘platform style’ services to asset types, many of which have traditionally been beyond the reach of core technology and straight-through processing. It gives us workflow-based risk control, rich user experience in terms of access and reporting, extendibility to new asset classes and operational efficiency. The strategic alliance with FNZ will give us the tools to deliver bespoke pension solutions at service and price levels which reflect the needs of the post RDR marketplace.”
The SIPP and SSAS markets are key components of FNZ’s growth strategy and we are delighted to be working in partnership with Hornbuckle to provide this unique proposition to the market.
FNZ partners with major financial institutions in the UK, Australia, NZ and Hong Kong to enable platform-based multi-channel wealth-management solutions. Working in long-term partnerships we enable our customers to get to market quickly, transform their customer service proposition through straight through processing and process automation, and grow assets under management across all major distribution channels. FNZ manages approximately £50bln in assets under administration on behalf of its existing customer base.
Hornbuckle has operated in the UK pensions market for over 30 years and current has 245 specialists working across its offices in Leicester and Edinburgh. The business delivers specialist products and services through a wide range of intermediary distribution partners, including independent financial advisers, wealth managers, employee benefit consultants and private banks. Hornbuckle operates c14,000 individual member pensions and over £4 billion of invested pension assets. These assets are invested across a diverse range of products from unlisted and listed share instruments to commercial property and cash.
