At FNZ we believe that our investors should be closely aligned with our strategy, our ambitions and our long-term sustainable growth plans. In CDPQ, Generation and Temasek we have the best possible backers, given their long-term time horizon and their focus on sustainable capitalism.
CDPQ and Generation – a unique, long term partnership
In 2018, CDPQ and Generation created a unique partnership aimed at large-scale, long-term sustainable investing. They focus on businesses such as FNZ that are net positive for the environment, that benefit society, and in many cases use technology as a key factor to drive change.
FNZ was the first investment made by the partnership. It represented the type of company into which CDPQ-Generation wanted to invest due to the belief that FNZ can help to catalyse a more sustainable form of investing in capital markets.
CDPQ (La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec) is one of Canada’s largest pension funds with a strong track record in responsible investment, including portfolio-wide climate change targets. Its core approach is to make investments based on long-term fundamentals rather than short-term volatility.
Generation Investment Management is a leader in long-term sustainable investment. It was founded in 2004 by former US vice-president Al Gore and Goldman Sachs Asset Management head David Blood with a mission to demonstrate the business case for long term sustainable investment.
In 2020, FNZ secured an investment from Temasek, a global investment company headquartered in Singapore. Temasek’s investment added a further high-profile investor and enhanced FNZ's reach into key Asian markets.
An investment company owned by the Singaporean government, Temasek actively seeks sustainable solutions that will help to bring about a better, smarter and more sustainable world.
In addition to our institutional investors, a significant number of FNZ employees are proud shareholders and between them they own around 30% of the business.
