Zurich UK Life has confirmed its intention to develop a retail platform aimed at the adviser market.

This latest development builds on Zurich’s previous announcement that it is set to launch a corporate savings platform aimed at employers and occupational scheme members.

Zurich intends to develop its retail proposition by deploying the core infrastructure currently being developed for its corporate savings platform and tailoring it to the needs of the retail market. Zurich has scoped its requirements for its retail platform and will be launching with market leading functionality to support IFAs in managing to address RDR requirements. More details will be announced at a later date.

In addition, Zurich has confirmed it is partnering with leading platform provider FNZ to launch its corporate savings platform in 2011. The corporate savings platform will offer greater choice, investment opportunities and flexibility for its corporate clients and their scheme members.

David Etherington, Chief Growth Officer commented, “In recent years there has been tremendous growth in the platform market both in the corporate and retail sector as employers and advisers have adopted the latest technology to help advisers and customers manage their wealth portfolios for medium to long term value creation
At Zurich we are committed to supporting retail and corporate intermediaries and over the long term and believe that it is important that our e-strategy continues to evolve in light of their changing needs. We believe that our platform propositions will be well received by the market and will provide employers and corporate advisers, as well as the IFA community, with the tools they need to help individuals address their financial needs as both markets redefine themselves in the next 3 years in light of the changing regulatory framework”.
Adrian Durham, Group CEO of FNZ said, “We’re delighted Zurich has chosen FNZ to develop their platform proposition and look forward to working closely with the team over the coming months.”
